About Teri

Born and raised in San Diego, CA, I have been helping and advocating for adults, children, and families for over 13 years. I am a graduate of Fresno State University, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California. I try to find common ground with my clients to build trust whether through my love for hiking, challenges being a mom, healthy eating, or my love for chocolate. As an African American woman, I not only relate to my clients through shared cultural experiences but with the unique challenges women and young adults face dealing with trauma, anxiety, and work-related stress. My main goal is to make sure that you feel welcomed, comfortable, build trust, and connect with me as not just your therapist, but as a person.

Healing & Empowerment Counseling Center specializes in providing mental health services for African Americans, women, young adults, and adolescents who are looking for a safe judgment-free environment to get the tools they need to have lasting healing, change, and success. I understand that my clients might not want to, or be able to spend a lifetime in therapy. I make sure each of my clients have the tools for their journey right now, and skills that they can use at work, school, home, and within their relationships. Most importantly I work to ensure that my clients have an understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and triggers, in order to sustain lasting success even after our time together.
